Idea #1 - Keeping Your Resolutions in 2022

Greg McKeown’s latest book, Effortless, offers a profound insight in establishing a habit and sticking to it. It’s the principle of “Never less than X, never more than Y.”

For example, my workouts in 2022 will never be less than 20 minutes, never more than 90 minutes. It sounds like we shouldn’t put a maximum but it keeps us from burning out. It’s why I’m even encouraging some of our younger Christians to apply this to Bible reading in 2022.

“The lower bound should be high enough to keep us feeling motivated, and low enough that we can still achieve it even on days when we’re dealing with unexpected chaos. The upper bound should be high enough to constitute good progress, but not so high as to leave us feeling exhausted.” p. 240
